Term 4 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Term 4.

Firstly, thank you to all Students and their Families, for your ongoing support and commitment in these crazy times.   As Covid restriction continuing to improve, we are working full steam ahead towards our end of year concert.  You will receive a Concert Note with this newsletter, outlining all details etc… If you can please read though these notes carefully to ensure you do not miss any important Dates and Rehearsals.

If any student CANNOT take part in our end of year Concert, can you please let me know immediately, as we are currently choreographing in preparation for our concert.  If I do not hear from you with in the next week, I will assume your child/children will be committing to Dancing at Concert.  All students will need to attend all their usual classes and dress rehearsals, between now and Concert,  because as you can image – it really  difficult to complete a routine when students are constantly away, and  as most students only dance 1 day a week, we would appreciate everyone’s efforts towards this.   The only exception is if you are unwell, [ as we are still needing to follow Covid Rules and Regulations.]  We also ask parents not to stay during classes and rehearsal [ unless you have committed to helping back backstage during concert ] this can be distracting for students, but you are welcome to wait in the covered seated area just outside the church.

TERM DATE: Tuesday 6th of OCTOBER – Saturday 18th of DECEMBER

KC DANCE ACADEMY – TERM 3 NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents & Students,

WELCOME BACK!!!!

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support in these difficult times.  I know the other teachers and I really appreciate everyone returning back to classes and continuing on furthering their knowledge and passion to Dance.  In this newsletter, I want to advise of how we will be moving forward, but still maintain government regulations and get students back into the swing of classes.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via, either tex, email, or communication book.

IF YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN ARE UNWELL – PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND TO CLASSES!

SIGNING IN & SANTIZTING

All students arriving will need to sign in the COVID TRACING BOOK – which will be placed on the table at the entrance door. This is a rule set by government; also, every student must sanitize their hands-on arrival and exit.

We also need to minimise people coming into the hall,  ALL PARENTS are to wait outside the hall for their child/children, – if it is urgent that you speak with me, then please enter the hall but please  ensure you have signed in the  tracing book and sanitized your hands OR either tex, email  or write in the communication book.

The Communication Book will be on the entrance table, please write your name and best contact number, and I will get back to you within 24 hours to answer your questions.

The back-Courtyard Room – is to have no more the 4-5 students at one time, students are also welcome to leave their bags on the chairs on the other side of the room in the hall, [spreading out on the chairs].

Also, keep in mind to social distant when possible, we will also be keeping  our website up to date  with latest  information regarding any developing information regarding covid and important information regarding classes ETC… so please keep an eye out for this.

All Students Need to bring their own DRINK BOTTLES to classes please, this just encourage good hygiene.

TERM DATES

TERM 3 – Monday 13th of July – Friday 18th of September 2020

TERM 4 – Tuesday 8th of October – Friday 11th of December 2020

DANCEWEAR AND SHOES

All students need to have the correct shoes and dancewear, to get the most out of their classes. Hair must be back neat and tidy. If you are unsure what your child needs, please see me.

OVERVIEW OF TERM 3 & 4

Now we are back, I wanted to let you know what our plans are to ensure students are moving forward with their dancing and getting the most out of their classes.

EXAMS – Any student wishing to take part in EXAMS will still be given the option. We have recommenced work towards this. The good news is instead of the doing our usual October session which is very close, and because we have lost all of term 2 due to Isolation, I have negotiated that we will be able to move our usual October Exam Session forward to Feb/March 2021, this way students will be given extra time to prep. And not have the added extra pressure of being ready so soon. By doing this early in term 1 2021, this will not hinder the progression of  exams for next year, as we will aim to do our usual  October session 2021 as well,[ keeping in mind, that hopefully   Government Regulations allow us to continue as normal]. Obviously, students wanting to do Exams in February/March 2021 would be required to attend holiday classes, which we will discuss closer to the time, as I will try to accommodate dates and times where I can. But of course this is just an option, your child is welcome to doing her exams next October 2021, I’m happy to work in with what suits best for the student, as I just don’t want to put any extra pressure on students then necessary.  Exams are Not compulsory, but I do expect all students to work technique carefully and try to the best of their ability, regardless if they choosing to do exams or not. I happy to discuss this in detail, on an individually bases if need be.

CONCERT

So, in review of all this – [Keeping in mind Exam work will is still going on] – CONCERT ROUTINES will be our focus now for all students, all students will be working on routines toward our concert. I will be finalizing a date for CONCERT, Dressing Rehearsal and Photo Day, with in the next 2 weeks -and a detailed Newsletter will be sent home.

TERM 3 FEES ARE NOW DUE.

If you are having trouble registering on website please let us know, and we will come up with a solution to sort this for you.

TIMETABLE

I will be making some minor changes to the Timetable, to make sure class times are running efficient as possible, but I will contact the students and family’s personality this will affect, to make sure everyone is happy.
